Property & Casualty Underwriter - New or Existing Business

Role: Underwriter in Allianz Insurance's Property & Casualty team in Manchester. We are looking for a self-motivated and talented individual to join our successful team.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new or existing business and actively engage in prospecting activities to secure new business growth.
  • Negotiate within authority and refer where appropriate to maximise customer growth, including persuading, influencing and convincing customers of the benefits of an opposed course of action.
  • Provide suggestions to continuously improve the business in an ever-changing environment.
  • Build strong relationships with brokers, negotiating effectively, and providing excellent customer service at all times.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in writing new and profitable business.
  • Strong technical underwriting skills in Commercial Property and Casualty.
  • Good trading skills and a confident negotiator, with proven experience in handling large cases.
  • The ability to build, develop and maintain positive broker relationships.
  • A good team player, supportive to others with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.

Desirable Skills

  • CII or working towards

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £30,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
