Job Description

We are seeking a Protection and Control (P&C) commissioning engineer to join our Power Networks team within our Net Zero Energy Business. This position can be home-based or based from one of our UK offices in Birmingham, Glasgow, Epsom, or Leeds, with site work expected across the UK.

The UK energy market is undergoing significant change as the country aims for a net zero carbon target. The sector is adapting to modern generation, transmission, and distribution technologies, energy storage, and the electrification of transport and heat. Networks are crucial in connecting renewable energy, with transmission network operators securing approximately £8bn in the RIIO T2 package.

Your purpose

• Oversee installation and commissioning of protection and control systems at various projects.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Attend site visits, FAT, and SAT as needed.

What you can bring

• HND or degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in commissioning P&C of UK substations (NG and/or SSE).
• BP141 or equivalent authorized or ability to obtain it.
• Strong safety and quality adherence.
• Willingness to travel to client sites.
• Right to work in the UK.
