This is an opportunity to join our Prudential Team within Risk Assurance, Financial Services. The Prudential Team specialises in providing prudential regulatory advice and guidance to clients within the financial services sector, supporting them to maintain adequate financial resources and manage risk in accordance with regulatory requirements and their commercial objectives. The team has a diverse client base, from niche challenger firms to long-established financial institutions. The team offers services to clients in the UK and internationally.

As a Senior Consultant, you will be a key member of the Prudential Team, responsible for delivering advisory and internal audit work, as well as assisting with technical research, knowledge sharing, client relationship management, and business development activities. The role-holder will deliver services in accordance with RSM UK’s methodologies and risk management objectives.

You will make an impact by:

• Delivering client work, including technical reviews (both advisory and internal audit) of prudential risk matters, including:
• Supporting engagement managers and other senior colleagues with day-to-day delivery of client engagement activities:
• Delivering high-quality client work as part of the engagement delivery team
• Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship management
• Conducting structured reviews of documents, models, and related materials, as well as gap analyses and regulatory research
• Structuring and conducting client interviews and process walk-throughs
• Developing solutions and drafting reports with detailed recommendations
• Presenting recommendations and feedback to clients

Researching and communicating technical regulatory rules within the team, the wider RSM Financial Services sector team, and among clients.

Managing relevant aspects of the client engagement lifecycle, including monitoring budgets and resourcing requirements.

Supporting the production of tender documents and proposals to secure new business.

Participating in growing the RSM Financial Services brand among internal and external stakeholders.

Supporting brand development through market research, new proposition design, go-to-market strategies, and thought leadership:

• Developing solution/product summaries and materials for inclusion in RFPs.
• Participating in tender/pitch presentations.
• Producing materials for seminars/events on hot topics.
• Identifying opportunities for publishing thought leadership and helping team members prepare materials.

What we are looking for:

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

• Experience in banking (including building societies), wealth and asset management, or insurance (GI, brokers, or life).
• Strong knowledge of prudential risk issues, including regulatory handbooks, technical instructions, and legislation.
• Understanding of prudential risk processes, governance, and controls in relevant sectors.
• Familiarity with regulatory institutions and their objectives.
• Recent experience in delivering prudential advice in professional services or financial institutions, with knowledge of internal audit processes being beneficial.
• Degree or equivalent experience.
• Professional qualification or working towards one (ACA, ACCA, CIA, FRM, etc.).
