We are looking for a passionate and committed public involvement and engagement specialist to join our People and communities team. The role involves ensuring that the voices of people with lived experience, their carers, families, and the voluntary and community sectors inform and influence the recommendations NICE makes.

There are two positions available: one permanent role and one fixed‑term role (until 31 March 2027).

Please note that this role may not be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route, please refer to the Direct Gov website for more information with regards to eligibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and support people who use health and social care services, carers, the public, and organisations representing their interests in NICE guidance.
  • Project‑manage stakeholder engagement, lay member recruitment and support.
  • Provide advice and training to various audiences.
  • Contribute to the strategic development and promotion of patient and public involvement at NICE.
  • Play an integral part in delivering programmes of work to support NICE’s 3‑year strategy for involving and engaging people and communities.
  • Support NICE’s broader transformational aims and strategy.
