Public Relations Account Manager Financial Services at MHP Group. This role leads day-to-day client activity on a portfolio of financial services clients, directing, mentoring and advising the account team, and proactively managing media opportunities and client relationships.

Role overview

We are looking for a dynamic Account Manager to join our team and work on an exciting portfolio of clients, acting as the day-to-day lead on client programmes and to direct, mentor and advise colleagues.

The role involves managing the daily delivery of client programmes, providing regular advice to clients and support to account teams. The role suits someone driven, who enjoys a fast-paced environment, loves the media, and takes a proactive lead in a variety of scenarios with multiple high-profile clients.

You will be passionate about financial services with an understanding of the sector’s news agenda, reputational challenges and opportunities for clients and prospects. You will have solid financial services experience, and established media contacts at national and trade publications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on day-to-day client activity and teams
  • Proactively seek and manage media opportunities for clients
  • Develop and cultivate key media relationships
  • Maintain an understanding of clients’ business objectives, media and issues in their wider industry sector
  • Manage and develop communications programmes to meet client objectives
  • Assist with new business preparation and pitching
  • Keep up to date with social media trends and develop related material, supporting MHP’s digital offering
  • Manage and mentor junior team members

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of communications experience in either agency or in-house roles
  • Passion for financial services with experience working with clients in the sector across wealth and asset management, fintech, insurance, consumer finance and private equity/venture capital
  • Experience across corporate positioning, brand building and reputation management briefs
  • Track record of forming strong client relationships built on trust and creativity
  • Forward-thinking view of communications and understanding of how traditional and digital channels reach audiences
