Linxon is seeking a Quality Lead to oversee all quality related activities for the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station project. The successful candidate will be primarily site-based and must have meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
Job Title: Quality Lead - Hybrid
Location: Hinkley Point, Somerset
Hinkley Point C will be the first nuclear power station constructed in a generation, designed to generate 7% of the UK’s electricity. Linxon is responsible for engineering, procuring, and constructing the HV equipment on the conventional island connecting the power generation to the National Grid.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of HV substation quality standards and associated nuclear documentation.
- Prepare, deliver, and revise End of Erection Status Reports (EESR) with the completions team.
- Develop, review, and approve QA procedures, work instructions, and quality documents.
- Issue NCR's where required and facilitate the closure of internal and client-issued NCR's.
- Maintain a Lessons Learned log.
- Ensure qualified personnel are present at all M&E inspections.
- Provide training and guidance to project personnel and contractors on QA procedures, standards, and requirements.
- Foster a culture of accuracy and identify key risk areas for improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop long-term strategies to address procedural failures.
- Review and offer timely feedback on Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and associated check sheets.
- Attend weekly quality meetings with the client to provide updates on progress and completion.
- Perform scheduled audits of Linxon’s documentation and that of subcontractors to verify adherence to ISO 9001 standards.
- Help the quality manager track and improve KPIs as needed.
- Address and escalate issues that jeopardize work quality.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of NNB quality requirements and systems is highly advantageous.
- Diploma in Quality or equivalent.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification and experience are required.
- Preferred membership of the Chartered Quality Institute.
- Proven experience in ensuring quality standards within a high voltage substation role.
- Maintenance of Linxon’s quality management system to ISO 9001.
- Comprehensive understanding of M&E installation and associated documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in IT skills is required.
