Quantitative Analyst – Energy Trading

Location: London (Hybrid: 75% UK-based, with 1 week per month in the Middle East)

Package: Highly competitive salary + benefits

Type: 9-12 Month contract into Potential Permanent.

One of the largest LNG powerhouses in the world is seeking a Quantitative Analyst / Quantitative Structurer to join their growing trading organization. This role offers the chance to design and implement advanced models supporting complex energy trading strategies, with direct exposure to global markets and international stakeholders.

What You Will Do...

• Develop and enhance quantitative models for spot/forward price processes, Monte Carlo simulations, multifactor models, and storage valuation.
• Build and maintain pricing frameworks for complex commodity options (spreads, exotics) and structured products.
• Model stochastic volatility and correlations across commodity prices to support trading and risk strategies.
• Provide quantitative insight into derivatives pricing, hedging, and exposure management.
• Collaborate with traders, risk managers, and system developers to deliver robust quantitative solutions.

What I Need From You...

• Prior experience as a quant in an energy trading environment (LNG, gas, power, or oil preferred).
• Strong knowledge of energy derivatives and hedging strategies.
• Expert coding ability in Python, C#, or C++.
• PhD (preferred) or Master’s in a quantitative discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• Willingness to travel to the Middle East for 1 week per month.
