The successful candidate will be responsible for both quantity surveying and estimating duties, supporting project delivery from tender stage through to completion. This hybrid role requires someone who is detail-oriented, commercially minded, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
  • Analyse tender documents and prepare competitive bids.
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning.
  • Monitor project progress and assess variations and claims.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure cost‑effective delivery.
  • Create interim applications.
  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed financial reports.
  • Produce final accounts.
  • Support value engineering and risk management initiatives.
  • Generate customer and work stream opportunity appraisals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in estimating or QS roles within civil engineering.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience of JCT & NEC contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
  • Project management and budgeting skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (desirable).
