Overview

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for delivering work driven by excellence - and doing the right thing. We have a reputation for working on some of the UK's most high-profile commissions across a wide range of projects and sectors, including infrastructure, education, corporate real estate, retail, residential, aviation, and healthcare. You will build long-term, sustainable relationships with key clients and act as a catalyst for colleagues' career progression. We are recruiting to support our varied project portfolio across the education/residential/commercial/aviation and hotel property sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Be able to attend offices in either Leeds, Derby or Sheffield for a minimum of 1-2 days per week.
  • Work as part of a team, providing commercial assistance to the client on a day-to-day basis.
  • Carry out both pre- and post-contract work.
  • Assist in the preparation of various classes of estimates based on available design information.
  • Agree valuations and site measures with contractors.
  • Produce monthly project reports.
  • Produce reports for client review.
  • Agree final accounts.
  • Produce cost estimates.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings.
  • Support the client PM and project team with the management of contracts.
  • Support project reviews and audits.
  • Ability to take ownership of work packages, aspects of projects or projects with minimum supervision.

What you can bring (Qualifications and skills)

  • Ideally MRICS qualified or working towards the APC.
  • Aptitude for a logical approach to problems and work generally.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office and other role-related software packages, e.g. CostX.
  • Market savvy and commercially minded, able to see opportunities and develop them.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and identify key issues.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic with a willingness to work independently, whilst also being a strong team player.
  • Engaging and approachable with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to inspire, gain trust and motivate.
