The Team
You’ll join our Quality, Safety & Improvements Team, part of the central Ground Operations function. This team sets the policies and procedures for safety, readiness, compliance, training, and continuous improvement, supporting a safe and on-time operation.
The Role
As Readiness and Training Specialist, you’ll support and deliver ground operations training and readiness activities across the easyJet network. Reporting to the Head of Safety, Quality and Improvement, you’ll ensure Ground Ops delivery teams and third-party handlers are well-prepared through effective training programmes, station readiness support, and proactive seasonal planning. You’ll contribute to winter operations preparedness and monitor wildlife management practices at airports, ensuring alignment with safety standards and regulatory expectations.
Key accountabilities include:
- Facilitating and supporting delivery of initial, recurrent, and refresher training for ground operations teams and partner handlers
- Assisting in the development, review, and continuous improvement of training content in line with regulatory, safety, and operational needs
- Monitoring training compliance and record-keeping, ensuring accurate tracking via learning management systems
- Supporting audits and assurance checks related to training standards and documentation
- Supporting operational readiness for new stations, projects, or major seasonal changes by coordinating assessments, onboarding, and training delivery
- Overseeing readiness status for the Ground Operations Network and supporting the AOCMs to ensure robust planning and documentation
- Assisting in risk assessment processes for station or handler changes, feeding into management reporting and decision making
- Ensuring airports have up-to-date emergency response and business continuity plans
- Overseeing winter operations readiness checks and supporting coordination with airport authorities and service providers
- Reviewing and escalating gaps in infrastructure, de-icing capacity, and snow/ice removal plans
Requirements of the Role
What we’re looking for
- 2–4 years’ experience in ground operations, safety, or operational training in aviation
- Understanding of operational readiness, airport environments, and seasonal risk factors
- Experience delivering or coordinating training, ideally in a regulated or safety-critical industry
- Awareness of winter operations and bird/wildlife hazard management best practices (ICAO, UK CAA guidance preferred)
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to follow process
- Comfortable with travel across easyJet’s network for station support, training delivery, and audits
- Self‑motivated team player with a proactive, solution‑focused mindset

Practicalities
This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
