The Role and Candidate

The Regional Finance Manager is responsible for leading financial operations and governance across Pop Mart’s European markets. This role will ensure robust internal controls, financial reporting accuracy, tax compliance, and treasury management. Acting as the primary finance liaison between HQ in Beijing and local country teams, the Regional FM plays a critical role in aligning multi-country finance operations with global standards and regulatory expectations. This position suits a technically strong finance professional with a hands-on mindset and experience managing regional financial frameworks in a multinational retail or consumer-facing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Control & Reporting: Oversee month-end and year-end financial closings across the region; consolidate statutory and management financial reports from country teams; ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAPs, and relevant regulations; lead external audits and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management: Coordinate budgeting and forecasting activities across all European markets; manage and optimise regional cash flow and treasury operations; monitor FX exposure, intercompany balances, and cash repatriation strategies
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Develop and maintain internal control frameworks across all finance functions; oversee VAT, corporate tax, and transfer pricing compliance in collaboration with external advisors; support the implementation of standardised finance policies and workflows aligned with HQ
  • Team & Stakeholder Management: Manage a growing regional finance team; oversee recruitment, training, and performance; serve as the finance counterpart to senior functional leaders and business heads; collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational efficiency and cost control

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a regional finance role within a multinational retail or consumer goods company
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS standards and financial reporting in a multi-country business environment
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, taxation, and treasury management
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite or similar ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of working across multiple European markets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to liaise effectively between HQ and country-level finance teams
  • Fluency in English; Mandarin or another European language is a strong plus to facilitate communication with HQ and regional teams

Desirable but Not Essential

  • Awareness of China GAAP and key reconciliation points with IFRS
  • Experience in managing cross-border financial compliance and tax planning
  • Prior involvement in setting up or managing a Shared Service Center (SSC) for finance operations
