Overview

Regional Health & Safety Manager — IVC Evidensia. This regional role supports the Head of Health & Safety and the National Veterinary H&S Manager in implementing and embedding H&S policy, systems, and training across veterinary clinics within a defined region. The role is hands-on, supporting Area Directors, Practice Managers, and local teams to ensure legal compliance, continual improvement, and safe operational delivery. The position covers South, North & Central UK plus a dedicated resource within RoI.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • H&S Lead within the region; support local H&S Representatives & forums. Provide H&S support and specialist advice and contribute to raising the H&S profile internally amongst colleagues and the wider business.
  • Drive the implementation of the H&S policy and framework; defined objectives and outcomes within the region.
  • Support Health & Safety Management systems to ensure workplace operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Undertake targeted H&S audits as part of a defined audit program and during H&S incident investigations.
  • Support audit compliance and statutory inspections.
  • Provide coaching & guidance locally, including promotion of safety culture on the ground.
  • Support H&S incident investigation processes within the region; provide incident support and direction to Area Managers/Directors/Clinics under investigation and assist the practices involved.
  • Minimise the likelihood of accidents and incidents and effectively manage risks for the region by evaluating incident data.
  • Ensure a safe working environment compliant with legal requirements by implementing appropriate risk assessments, procedures and training.
  • Liaise with safety representatives and regional teams within the allocated geographic area of operations.
  • Support H&S team briefs, health and safety awareness or other training as required.
  • Coordinate all outcomes from regional activities back into central H&S functions to enable a consistent national H&S delivery model.

Experience / Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a multi-site, customer-facing or clinical environment.
  • Solid understanding of UK H&S legislation and its practical application.
  • Skilled in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with clinical teams and operational leaders.
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel extensively across the region.
