About MBM Vets

MBM Veterinary Group is a long-established, independently run practice based in Ayrshire, close to the coast and within easy reach of Glasgow and central Scotland. Our team works across three branches in Kilmarnock, Mauchline, and Beith, offering a wide range of veterinary services in small animal, farm, and equine sectors. The area is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with many opportunities for sports and outdoor activities.

Our facilities are modern and well-equipped, including digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, and in-house laboratory capabilities for diagnostics like cytology, haematology, biochemistry, and point-of-care tests. We are also a host practice for VetsNow out-of-hours services, allowing us to keep hospitalized patients on-site overnight.

Our Team and Culture

You will join a supportive small animal team of 20 veterinary surgeons and 16 RVNs, supported by nursing assistants and reception staff. Our culture emphasizes respect, collaboration, and clinical excellence, with a strong focus on professional development and high standards of care.

About the Role

The role involves all aspects of small animal nursing, including consultations, surgical support, inpatient care, emergency triage, and reception duties. Candidates confident in nurse-led clinics and client education are preferred. You will be expected to maintain professional communication and pursue CPD aligned with RCVS guidelines.

Working Hours

Up to 40 hours per week, structured over four or five days, with participation in a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota. Part-time or alternative hours can be considered.
