MBM Veterinary Group is pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our welcoming and experienced small animal team. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. In return, we provide a supportive working environment, opportunities for career development, and a genuine commitment to promoting work-life balance.
About MBM Vets
MBM Veterinary Group is a long-established, independently run practice based in Ayrshire, close to the coast and within easy reach of Glasgow and central Scotland. Our team works across three branches in Kilmarnock, Mauchline, and Beith, offering a wide range of veterinary services in small animal, farm, and equine sectors. The area is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with many opportunities for sports and outdoor activities.
Our facilities are modern and well-equipped, including digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, and in-house laboratory capabilities for diagnostics like cytology, haematology, biochemistry, and point-of-care tests. We are also a host practice for VetsNow out-of-hours services, allowing us to keep hospitalized patients on-site overnight.
Our Team and Culture
You will join a supportive small animal team of 20 veterinary surgeons and 16 RVNs, supported by nursing assistants and reception staff. Our culture emphasizes respect, collaboration, and clinical excellence, with a strong focus on professional development and high standards of care.
About the Role
The role involves all aspects of small animal nursing, including consultations, surgical support, inpatient care, emergency triage, and reception duties. Candidates confident in nurse-led clinics and client education are preferred. You will be expected to maintain professional communication and pursue CPD aligned with RCVS guidelines.
Why Join MBM Vets?
Join a forward-thinking veterinary group with a rich heritage, offering a varied caseload, excellent facilities, and a supportive team. The role offers a balanced work-life with flexible hours and no out-of-hours duties.
Working Hours
Up to 40 hours per week, structured over four or five days, with participation in a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota. Part-time or alternative hours can be considered.
Because our people matter
We value our team and offer a competitive salary, work-life balance benefits, wellbeing initiatives, professional development allowances, memberships, and additional staff benefits such as discounts and pension schemes.
