Regulatory and Compliance Lead (CASS Specialist)

Our client is seeking a Regulatory and Compliance Lead with CASS specialism to join their team and play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive second line compliance support to the organisation. You will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning regulatory and compliance initiatives (including the Consumer Duty) with business objectives, while also handling generalist responsibilities. This role requires a versatile compliance professional with expertise in regulatory compliance, a strategic mindset, and the ability to build effective relationships.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both strategic compliance initiatives and day-to-day compliance advisory / operations. You will play a vital role in managing and overseeing compliance matters, providing guidance to business leaders, and fostering a positive work environment. Your expertise in Compliance, combined with your strategic mindset, will enable you to drive meaningful change and support the overall success of the organisation.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies that apply to Wipro Financial Outsourcing Services Ltd and its client
- Provide CASS advice and steering as required
- Provide guidance and support to business units on compliance matters
- Conduct compliance themed advisory reviews based on risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks
- Develop and implement compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of compliance training programs and make recommendations for improvements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as quality assurance, risk management and internal audit, to ensure a coordinated approach to compliance
- Investigate and respond to compliance-related complaints and inquiries from regulators, clients, and employee
- Support the SMCR regime by closely working with Compliance Operations who submit FCA Connect forms and Directory Persons as required
- Support the ongoing regulatory and change initiatives by acting as the FCA compliance expert
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings as required
- Keeping management informed of significant compliance issues and developments.
- Assisting in the analysis and production of Compliance Governance reporting
- Assisting in the identification and assessment of emerging risk including those arising from changes to regulatory obligations
- Participating in industry forums and staying informed about emerging compliance trends and best practices
- Create and comment on compliance MI that feeds into the Compliance Officer’s Board Reports Management of any Compliance support staff
What Knowledge, Skills & Experience We Need
- A proven track record in establishing credible relationships with leadership teams and in managing complex compliance issues.
- Successfully operated in a complex environment and be driven to play a key role in regulatory compliance.
- Certified professional in compliance or risk management
- Strong CASS background and experience, including client money and assets, CASS RP and CMAR
- Robust experience in financial services in a second line back-office compliance role.
- Working knowledge of and experiencing in using the FCA Handbook
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex compliance issues to non-compliance professionals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to draft Compliance Oversight reports and other management reports to support the Compliance Oversight Officer
- Ability to create and deliver specific compliance training on a face-to-face basis for employees to enable compliance to be embedded in the business
- Ability to analyse the FCA returns from across the business to ensure they are comparative with previous returns
- Self-motivator
- Strong IT skills (Particularly Excel and other MS office applications
- Experience with compliance monitoring tools and software
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Knowledge of insurance industry practices and procedures
- Location: Hybrid/London (2 days office based)
- Rate: upto £79,900 plus discretionary bonus
