Overview
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is advertising a Regulatory team position for a Litigation and Regulatory solicitor covering a broad range of activities including planning, licensing, regulatory, housing and general criminal and civil litigation. The post is within the In-house Legal team and offers flexible and hybrid working. Applications are open to both internal and external applicants.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality legal advice and advocacy in regulatory, planning, licensing, housing and related litigation.
- Carry out civil and criminal litigation as required and contribute to a strong, can-do team culture.
- Draft pleadings, opinions and other legal documents with strong analytical skills and clear communication.
- Represent the authority in appropriate forums and liaise with stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ideally a good understanding of regulatory law; training will be considered for the right applicant.
- Strong communicator with excellent analytical and drafting abilities.
- Positive, highly motivated, versatile and innovative approach to legal work.
Offer and Benefits
- Salary: £45,091 - £48,226
- Hours: 37 per week
- Grade: Level 12
- Holiday entitlement: 28 days per year plus Bank Holidays, rising to 33 days after 5 years’ service
- Local Government Pension Scheme enrollment
- Flexible and Hybrid working
