Relationship Director - Structured Property Finance, Bridging & Stabilisation

Cynergy Bank is the UK’s human digital bank serving SMEs, professionals and high net worth individuals. This role joins a high-growth, specialist lender with ambitious expansion plans in structured and bridging finance.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in driving origination and expanding our footprint in the £10m–£50m lending segment.
  • Leverage your technical expertise to structure tailored lending solutions, particularly around stabilisation and transitional assets.
  • Operate within a collaborative and agile team environment, supported by robust credit, legal, and operational infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our lending strategy, product development, and market positioning.
  • Understand the bank’s products and services, proactively identify and action sales opportunities in order to meet business objectives.
  • Meet growth, performance and income targets through proactive development of new business from professional networks.
  • Independently assess, critically evaluate, prepare and submit applications for loan facilities, ensuring appropriate commentary and analysis to aid decision making to the high standards expected.
  • Proactively manage all transactions from credit assessment through to completion alongside Transaction Execution Manager.
  • Ensure an effective post-drawdown handover to colleagues who will assume direct responsibility for the connection.
  • Maintain delivery of high-quality service to customers as required.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key business partners to maximise potential growth of business.
  • Build knowledge of relevant markets and customers to anticipate and meet their needs.
  • Monitor market developments and competitor activity; recommend and implement appropriate action to ensure the Bank remains competitive.
  • Proactively support monitoring of the credit portfolio and take action as necessary to minimise risk and ensure quality account management.
  • Review credit applications in accordance with policy to minimise risks and ensure quality account management of the credit portfolio.
  • Ensure clients are compliant with AML policies and KYC procedures, including periodic reviews.
  • Manage relevant Management Information and ensure appropriate action is reported.
  • Provide input to Bank policy including lending guidelines, product development and overall risk management.
  • Support the design and implementation of the banking strategy, including growth and income targets and adherence to operational and regulatory risk standards.

Qualifications / Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mid-market lending, with emphasis on structured property finance, bridging, and stabilisation facilities.
  • Proven ability to originate and execute complex transactions, including stabilisation loans at practical completion where properties transition from development to income-generating assets.
  • Exposure to residential development, PBSA, commercial real estate, trading businesses and mixed-use schemes.
  • Well-established network of introducers, brokers, and KBIs in the £10m+ lending space.
  • Strong credit analysis and structuring skills, with ability to assess cash flow risks, lease-up dynamics, and mitigate factors to ensure covenant compliance during stabilisation.
