The Role
As a Release Train Engineer you will work with teams to prioritise features for each planning cycle, organise and drive SAFe events, and collaborate across multiple teams.
Day-to-day, you will plan short-term development cycles, coordinate ART syncs at every stage, run demos and workshops, and lead backlog refinement in a fast-paced environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate and drive cross-team coordination within the Agile Release Train (ART), resolving departmental challenges and fostering open communication between teams and stakeholders.
- Understand and manage upstream and downstream dependencies, collaborating with the Product Manager.
- Drive value delivery and improve the product through effective use of data.
- Provide leadership to project teams, acting as a consultant and coach to resolve contingencies and complex issues.
- Advocate the adoption of Agile and SAFe practices; tailor these practices to the organisation’s needs.
- Manage program-level coordination, create timelines, set milestones, and ensure the program’s cost, time and performance are aligned.
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience in a SAFe delivery environment.
- Strong knowledge or experience of software development within a development environment.
- Ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Experience resolving conflict and coaching Scrum Masters and Team Coaches.
- Proven experience leading project teams to deliver complex solutions and initiating critical thinking.
Essential Qualifications
- Scaled Agile Framework Certification.

The Malvern facility focuses on electronic warfare, surveillance and complex system integration, contributing to the UK’s defence capabilities. Work includes developing technologies for military and civilian applications, including sensors, communications and cyber security.
