We are seeking a motivated Remote Operations Centre Geophysicist to join the team within the state-of-the-art Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Aberdeen. The ROC supports offshore operations using innovative technology and protocols from our onshore facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a Geophysicist to be at the forefront of new ways of working at Fugro, helping us stay industry leaders.

The Remote Operations Geophysicist will be responsible for the acquisition, quality control, interpretation, and analysis of marine geophysical data, geohazard assessment, and the integration of geophysical, environmental, and geotechnical data.
You will work within a team including a Geoscience Team Leader and collaborate with other team members such as the Principal Geophysicist, Senior Geophysicist, Project Geophysicist, and Trainee Geophysicist during offshore data acquisition and office reporting phases.
This is a staff position based in Aberdeen, operating on a rotational shift pattern: 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off, followed by 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

Your role and responsibilities:
- Ensure all work is performed to the highest quality and professionalism, following the company’s Integrated Management System and project documentation.
- Identify personal training needs and utilize available training opportunities.
- Monitor data quality on survey vessels, liaise with survey staff, and maintain survey logs.
- Interpret and integrate various data types and prepare reports according to contractual and Fugro standards, under supervision.
What you'll need to thrive in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Geophysics, Geology, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of geophysical equipment and methods used in shallow marine environments, including data interpretation, mapping, visualization, and plotting software.
- Practical field experience in marine geophysical survey work, including data acquisition, quality control, and interpretation of side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, and magnetometer data.
- Interest in working in an onshore environment with a regular schedule in the Remote Operations Centre.
- Willingness to relocate to Aberdeen; demonstrated interest in IT, data management, and continuous improvement through emerging technologies.
