Revolutionize the future of AI! Aquent is seeking a skilled Research Assistant to partner with a leading global technology company pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence. As a Research Assistant, you’ll be an integral part of a dynamic team focused on prototyping and testing AI agents and Large Language Models (LLMs). You will be instrumental in refining AI behavior, developing innovative testing strategies, and establishing benchmarks for performance evaluation. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the rapidly evolving field of AI and make a tangible impact on its future applications.

This is a short term contract position until December 2025 on a hybrid working capacity (3 days/week onsite).

What You’ll Do:

• Craft and experiment with test prompts for AI agents, optimizing their performance and aligning them with desired behaviors.
• Implement and troubleshoot AI agent tool calls within a Python/PHP software stack.
• Develop high-quality prompts to create internal benchmarks for AI agents, drawing inspiration from industry standards like MLEBench and BFCL.

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Min. 2years of research or prototyping experience in machine learning, deep learning, or natural language processing within the technology industry.
• Programming proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks like Model Context Protocol and LangChain.
• Familiarity with the architectural patterns of large-scale software applications.
• Ability to read, understand, and contribute to a complex Python codebase.
• Intermediate-level Python coding skills, including the ability to solve LeetCode-style problems.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Direct experience in generative AI and LLM research.
• Some experience with SQL for data analysis.
