Research Associate in In Vitro siRNA Disposition
2 Days Old
Applications are invited for a Research Associate in Oligonucleotide Disposition at the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research (CAPKR) within the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry. The position is fixed-term for 24 months.
The post-doctoral research associate will establish novel in vitro assays to quantify siRNA uptake, intracellular distribution, and effects in primary cultured hepatocytes. These data will inform mechanistic PBPK-PD models for predicting in vivo oligonucleotide disposition and effects. The research involves developing and exploring in vitro methods, including subcellular fractionation, live-cell imaging, RT-PCR, and ELISA techniques.
The successful candidate will join the CAPKR research team and work on a project titled "Improving a priori PBPK modelling for translation of oligonucleotide disposition, tissue clearance, and durability of effect." Applicants should hold a PhD in biomedical or pharmaceutical research and have experience establishing cell-based assays and molecular techniques. Experience with proteomic analyses, mathematical modelling, and working in multidisciplinary teams is desirable.
Applicants who are not EEA nationals or from exempt countries and require UK visa sponsorship must apply for an ATAS certificate before applying for the role.
