Role Overview

• Define and Execute Strategy: Craft and implement long‑term research visions aligned with Samsung’s business objectives and product roadmap.
• Lead and Mentor Teams: Guide diverse teams of research scientists, engineers, and interns, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

• Oversee Complex Projects: Manage multiple research projects from conception to publication, deployment, and commercialization.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
• Extensive post‑PhD research experience with a strong publication record in top‑tier venues.
• Proven leadership experience managing research teams of 10+ members.
• Track record of translating research innovations into real‑world products or business impact.

Technical Expertise

• Deep knowledge in AI/ML, including large language models, generative AI, computer vision, and edge computing.
• Experience with large‑scale distributed systems, model optimization, and on‑device deployment.
• Familiarity with mobile and embedded systems constraints.

Leadership & Communication Skills

• Exceptional communication abilities for both technical and executive audiences.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to set long‑term research visions.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships across global teams.
