Job Summary
The Research Nurse Specialist/Team Lead will be responsible for coordinating and managing the performance of a large portfolio of clinical trials across a variety of specialties and for leading a team of Clinical Research Staff. The role requires expert knowledge, skill and experience in research governance, and acts as an expert resource to advise and support all levels of clinical trial staff.

The Trust runs the North Devon District Hospital, the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford) and various community and specialist services.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, implement and manage concurrent research projects autonomously.
• Coordinate and monitor the study portfolio, ensuring recruitment, accrual and performance metrics are met.
• Ensure all trials comply with the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
• Build relationships with Principal and Chief Investigators and other multidisciplinary teams across the Trust and local/national agencies.
• Lead a team of clinical research staff, fostering professional development and a visible clinical profile.
• Source and manage funding for clinical trials where applicable.
Working Pattern
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00‑17:00 with some working from home.
