Research Scientist - Antibody & Novel Therapy We are looking for a Research Scientist to join us in our Antibody & Novel Therapies team, based in our Slough, UK facilities. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will form part of a multi-disciplinary team generating innovative bispecific antibodies and providing protein engineering solutions for new drug candidates in the field of immune cell engagers. As a laboratory-based scientist, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality biologics and molecule related analytical insights thereby enabling progression of molecules from the earliest stages of drug discovery through to candidate selection. This exciting role is based at our world class research centre in Slough/Windlesham UK which has an established pedigree for antibody discovery and engineering. You will work in the Antibody and Novel therapeutics department within UK Research. Who You’ll Work With You will report to the Director of Antibody Engineering What You’ll Do
Contribute to the optimal design, selection and delivery of bispecific antibody molecules that advance therapeutic antibody projects. Ability to analyze, interrogate, interpret, and accurately document data to support decision-making Liaise with project leaders and communicate data through presentations and written reports Collaborate effectively within a team Innovate or identify new and relevant technologies for evaluation and potential implementation
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills
A PhD in biochemistry or a relevant biological discipline Comprehensive knowledge of antibodies, their structures and functions Good knowledge of therapeutic modalities relevant to UCB’s key disease areas including immune cell engaging bispecific antibodies Experienced in recombinant production from mammalian cells and associated analytical techniques Experience in cell assays (cell binding, signalling, reporter, complex, flow cytometry, in cell lines or primary cells) is beneficial.
