About The Role
The Greater Tortue Ahmeyim Phase 1 mega project shipped its first LNG cargo load in April 2025 after announcing first gas earlier in the year. It is expected to produce around 2.4 million tonnes of LNG annually. Located on the Mauritania and Senegal maritime border, it is one of the deepest developments in Africa and one of bp’s biggest-ever projects.
As Reservoir Engineer working part of the Depletion Management Squad within Subsurface M&S unit, you will be working alongside professionals to help bp and its partners, protect and create value in this important part of the bp portfolio.
You will be responsible for utilising broad reservoir experience and classical reservoir engineering methods to collate data from the field, ensuring it is properly analysed and integrated into the team’s current understanding to inform decision making and the appropriate reservoir management and surveillance activities are planned and implemented.
What You Will Deliver
- Surveillance planning and analysis and surveillance integration
- Reservoir performance management dashboard
- Owning one of the Region models used for reservoir performance prediction (FFM, GAP, Harmony)
- Contribution to the DMS annual work plan, with specific deliverables agreed through squad Agile implementation (sprint planning / review; regular stand-ups)
What You Will Need To Be Successful
- Strong industry track record in reservoir engineering
- Able to clearly defend and articulate a high level of reservoir engineering understanding.
- Experienced in gas reservoir depletion management (operating plan, surveillance planning and analysis, reservoir health).
- Knowledge of subsurface description, reservoir management, surveillance and risk management planning.
- Reservoir simulation experience (desirable)
- Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work in multidiscipline environment and communicate at all levels
- Proven track record as a self-starter, capable of reducing sophisticated problems to manageable entities
