Restructuring and Insolvency Solicitor - 2-4 PQE - Newcastle upon Tyne

New Yesterday

Restructuring & Insolvency Lawyer (2–4 years’ PQE)

Location: Newcastle (with hybrid working)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We’re working with a genuinely lovely North East law firm that’s looking to welcome a Restructuring & Insolvency Lawyer with around 2–4 years’ post-qualified experience to its well-established Banking and Restructuring team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm that’s built an outstanding reputation not just for the quality of its work, but for the way it looks after its people. It’s a firm full of genuinely nice, down-to-earth individuals who take pride in what they do, support one another, and enjoy coming to work. The culture is professional yet relaxed, and there’s a real sense of balance - the work is high quality and engaging, but without the relentless pressure or unrealistic targets you often find elsewhere.

The team advises a wide range of clients including insolvency practitioners, creditors, investors, employees and lenders. The work itself is varied and interesting, everything from restructures and reorganisations through to disputes, business sales and acquisitions, and investment opportunities. The firm is open to candidates with experience in either contentious or non-contentious insolvency and restructuring matters.

They’re looking for someone proactive, enthusiastic and commercially minded, a lawyer who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and working collaboratively. Strong technical skills are important, but so are good communication, curiosity and the ability to connect with clients and colleagues alike.

The firm itself has around 190 people across the North East and Cumbria and has created a culture based on trust, teamwork, responsibility and care. It’s modern, flexible and forward-thinking, with genuine hybrid working and a clear commitment to wellbeing. You’ll find plenty of opportunities to get involved in wider firm life too - whether that’s through community projects, volunteering, or one of the many social or sustainability initiatives.

This is also a firm that’s consistently recognised for doing things the right way. They’re B Corp Certified, hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation, and have been named the North East’s Best Place to Work two years in a row.

In short, this is an opportunity to work with great people, do high-quality work, and still have a life outside of it. If you’re looking for somewhere you can develop your career without compromising your balance or your values, this could be a brilliant fit.
