We are looking to recruit a Restructuring Associate 4+ years PQE with contentious insolvency experience to join our London office but we are also keen to hear from candidates who wish to base themselves in one of our regional offices in England but are happy to travel to London when required.

Candidates should have particular experience advising insolvency practitioners and financial institutions, and would ideally also have experience advising other major stakeholders such as litigation funders, private equity funds, debt funds and company directors. In particular, we are looking for candidates that have experience in pursuing and defending claims arising out of insolvency, antecedent transaction claims, cross-border insolvency disputes and other asset recovery processes.

Our Team, part of our Finance and Restructuring group, advises financial institutions, turnaround and insolvency practitioners, company directors, litigation funders, private equity funds, debt funds, shareholders and other stakeholders on strategies for recovery and turnaround.

We have a wide range of key clients including all UK clearing banks except the Bank of England, a number of overseas banks, asset based lenders and challenger banks, as well as numerous insolvency practitioners and financial advisory firms.

Work highlights include advising FRP Advisory Limited as the administrators of Safe Hands Plans Limited, a pre-paid funeral provider, and advising RSM UK Restructuring as the administrators of Lendy Limited, a failed peer-to-peer platform lender.

The successful candidate will ideally have gained experience in a City, or a strong national or regional, firm, be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development, be a team player with a strong client focused approach, and have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills.

The role is wide-ranging and will focus on developing on-going relationships with an existing client base as well as pitching for new opportunities, developing close working relationships as part of an international team, and being involved in work in the very best national and international work.
