Job Description

Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a London-based Local Authority for a Revenue and Debt Service Manager on a temporary basis. The role involves leading the administration, collection, and enforcement of Council Tax, National Non-Domestic Rates (NNDR), Housing Benefit Overpayments, Adult Social Care client contributions, and Sundry debts.

The successful candidate will ensure maximized collections, managing the in-house service for Council Tax and overseeing the outsourced NNDR service to Capita. They will support the Deputy Director of Finance by applying their initiative and business knowledge to develop, improve, and ensure the efficiency and success of the department through effective leadership, budgeting, strategic planning, and governance.

Candidate Criteria

• Experience as a Revenues/Debt Manager within a Local Authority
• In-depth knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, enforcement legislation, and regulations
• Proven experience managing an effective service and making strategic decisions to improve it
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
