OverviewDo you have an understanding and/or appreciation of the HE sector and the key challenges and strategic issues facing research and innovation in a HE environment plus experience of managing and responding to data and information requests? If so, we would welcome your application for this role.As a member of the Business Development Research and Innovation (BDRI) directorate’s central delivery team, you will play a key role in ensuring that all reporting and compliance activities relating to research and innovation are conducted in an efficient and effective way in order to minimise any risks of regulatory or legal exposure. You will be actively managing processes relating to TRAC, fEC, benchmarking, internal and external monitoring returns.ResponsibilitiesManaging, maintaining and developing systems and processes related to the University’s costing and pricing systems including exception reporting, salary rates, overhead rates, funder lists and foreign currency exchange rates. Liaising with other Directorates such as HR as necessaryPlaying a key role in the development and implementation of research and innovation analytics, including hands-on production of data sets, analytics and modelsBeing the Directorate specialist with regards to the Transparent Approach to Costing (TRAC) and Full Economic Costing (fEC) methodologies, liaising with other Directorates such as Finance as necessary. Undertaking necessary surveys and monitoring as part of the annual TRAC(R) submission processCollating data for and support the submission of internal and external monitoring returns such as the HE-BCI Survey, HESA, KEF and REF. Taking a lead role on addressing data quality issuesWhat will you bring to the role?Degree in a relevant field and/or appropriate administration qualification, or relevant demonstrable experienceA good working knowledge of TRAC and fECExperience of developing and implementing new policies/procedures in a complex organisation and preparing data for submission to external monitoring exercisesExperience in Finance (i.e. UBW) and Research Management System (i.e. Worktribe) would be beneficialWhat we can offerAs a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing.
