OverviewRisk Management Lead – UK. Wakam is a B2B2C digital insurer operating in 32 countries, offering embedded and white-label insurance solutions powered by the Play&Plug platform. We are seeking a Risk Management Lead to help build and shape our UK risk framework and embed a strong risk culture across our UK operations.Your MissionAs Risk Management Lead, you will:Take the operational lead in building the Risk Management Framework in the UK alongside the CRO and Group RiskConduct risk identification workshops with 1st Line teams and support mitigation strategies and control designsCollaborate on setting Risk Appetite, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and emerging risk identificationMonitoring & GovernanceMaintain and oversee incident logs, monitor control effectiveness, and ensure follow-up on risk eventsDraft and update risk policies and contribute to internal reporting (Boards and Committees)Support the ORSA process and risk reporting to UK management committeesStakeholder EnablementAct as a key 2nd Line representative, providing challenge and guidance to risk ownersTrain and support 1st Line stakeholders and champions on risk obligations and cultureSupport in embedding a 3-lines-of-defence model and a proactive risk-aware cultureWhat You BringMinimum 5 years of experience in Risk Management in Financial ServicesStrong knowledge of UK insurance regulations and frameworksExperience in UK General Insurance is a strong advantageExposure to GRC tools, Microsoft Excel, and risk analyticsConfident in working across teams and producing clear governance documentationAble to simplify complex topics for different stakeholdersWho You AreProactive, structured, and solutions-orientedDetail-driven with high standards for accuracyComfortable managing multiple topics in a fast-paced environmentEffective communicator with gravitas across all levelsHigh integrity and ownership — a trusted voice in risk mattersNaturally curious and collaborative — someone who thinks globally, but executes locallyAI & InnovationAt Wakam, AI and automation are transforming the insurance experience.
