Job Description

A leading national law firm is looking to appoint an Associate to join its Multi-Track Motor team based in Manchester.

Working within a close-knit team acting for major UK insurer clients, you will manage your own caseload of complex motor claims while providing day-to-day supervision and support to a group of case handlers. The team operates on a hybrid model, with office attendance required approximately two days per week.

This is an excellent role for someone with proven Multi-Track experience who is keen to step into a position with leadership responsibility alongside hands-on technical work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling and assisting on Multi-Track Motor claims on behalf of leading insurers
  • Managing your own complex caseload, including serious injury matters
  • Drafting pleadings, preparing instructions to counsel and experts, and attending conferences
  • Reporting to clients with professionalism and clarity
  • Conducting legal research and maintaining awareness of industry developments
  • Supervising and developing case handlers through coaching, performance management and regular feedback
  • Identifying training needs and supporting personal development plans
  • Managing team performance, workflow and resourcing
  • Providing pastoral and wellbeing support to team members

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Solicitor with experience in Multi-Track and/or Fast-Track Motor claims
  • Strong technical ability and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident and professional in client-facing settings
  • Experienced in supervising or supporting junior team members
