School Careers Events Co-ordinator
Responsible To: Careers & STEM Manager
Responsible For: No direct reports. Responsibilities include supporting the training of colleagues.
Location: Office based at 30 Frog Island, Off North Bridge Place, Leicester, LE3 5AG, with some flexibility to work from home. Daily travel to schools across Leicestershire. Office based with WFH and weekly travel to schools across Leicestershire. Term Time Only Available. L6 Training included if not already achieved. Permanent position with 10% pension. Drivers Licence and own vehicle essential.
Main Purpose Of The Job:
Leicestershire Education Business Company seeks to appoint a School Events Co-ordinator to join our Careers Services Team. The successful candidate will develop, plan, and deliver bespoke careers events in schools and colleges to prepare young people for the world of work. The Co-ordinator will provide innovative services that meet the changing needs of education and employment, ensuring high levels of customer service. We deliver interactive events that help students learn key workplace skills and explore future careers.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities:
- Event Organising & Marketing: Achieve income targets by building on previous bookings and generating new ones. Demonstrate excellent organisation skills, manage, organise, and attend events. Maintain relationships with schools and colleges, develop new activities, create resources, and market events via social media and the website. Gather feedback and demonstrate event impact. Explore sponsorship opportunities.
- Employer Recruitment: Recruit inspiring employer volunteers from diverse backgrounds, build and maintain relationships, attend networking events, keep records up to date, and host employer network meetings.
- Careers Education: Support the wider Careers team with information, advice, and guidance. Ensure activities align with Gatsby benchmarks. Be willing to travel extensively across Leicestershire and occasionally further afield. Attend meetings, training, and events as required. Support safeguarding and promote welfare, including DBS checks.
This description is not exhaustive and may be reviewed. The role involves occasional work outside normal hours, with paid time off in lieu. Benefits include salary (£25,000-£28,000), 37.5 hours/week, flexible working, pension, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
