Key Responsibilities of the role
Monitor, analyse, and respond to security events and incidents using SIEM and EDR within the CrowdStrike platform, with visibility across endpoints, network infrastructure, and cloud environments. This includes working with telemetry and alerts that support intrusion detection and prevention workflows.
Configure, maintain, and optimise security technologies to safeguard hybrid environments, enabling proactive threat detection and resilient incident response through close collaboration with infrastructure, operations, and cloud teams.
Perform vulnerability scanning and risk assessments across infrastructure and cloud environments, coordinating with internal teams to drive timely and effective remediation.
Contribute to the evolution of automated security operations and threat detection workflows, using scripting and orchestration tools to enhance efficiency and response capabilities over time, in collaboration with infrastructure and operations teams.
Maintain and enforce information security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials+, and GDPR, and support internal and external audits and compliance activities.
Investigate the root causes of security incidents and collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement mitigation and prevention strategies that reduce recurrence and strengthen overall resilience.
Stay informed on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and contribute to the evaluation of new security technologies to support proactive measures and continuous improvement across operations.
Contribute to knowledge sharing across the team and support the development of security awareness and best practices within the organisation.
What experience do I need
A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience is a must.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CISM (or working towards) or CISSP (or working towards) are advantageous.
Analytical mindset – able to assess complex security data and identify patterns, anomalies, and root causes.
Collaborative approach – works effectively with infrastructure, operations, and compliance teams to achieve shared goals.
Continuous learner – committed to staying current with emerging threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
