Overview

Our client, a global leader in aerospace, defence, and aviation engineering, is seeking an experienced Security Architect to join their advanced systems and technology division. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain secure architectures across platforms supporting the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).

Location: Newport (Hybrid) • Contract Term: 6 months • Rate: £85 per hour

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure architectures for MOD platforms, applications, and networks
• Ensure compliance with standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, JSP 440, DEF STAN, NCSC)
• Produce and maintain security artefacts, including risk assessments and management plans
• Lead secure design reviews and support engineering assurance gates

Qualifications

• Active SC clearance
• 6+ years in cyber security architecture within defence, aerospace, or critical national infrastructure
• Relevant security and architecture certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF, or equivalent
• Deep understanding of MOD security requirements (JSP 440, JSP 604, DEF STANs)
