At Balfour Beatty, we’re delivering some of the UK’s most complex and prestigious infrastructure projects. We are currently recruiting for a Security Assurance Manager – Supply Chain to play a pivotal role in supporting a major defence construction programme.
As our Security Assurance Manager, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our supply chain meets the highest security and compliance standards. This is a unique opportunity to protect sensitive national infrastructure while shaping best-in-class supplier security governance.
What you'll be doing
- Lead end-to-end supply chain security assurance, ensuring all third-party suppliers and subcontractors comply with national security frameworks, including Defence Security Regulations (DSR), NIST SP 800-171/172, DEFCONs, and MOD JSPs.
- Manage proactive risk assessments and security vetting, identifying and mitigating risks such as cyber threats, insider risks, and counterfeit components across the supply chain.
- Deliver structured reporting to the client and key stakeholders, maintaining full visibility of supplier security performance.
- Oversee incident response coordination, ensuring swift action and recovery in the event of any security breach.
- Align supply chain security practices with MOD and Defence Industrial Base expectations including Cyber Essentials Plus, DEFSTAN 05-138, and NATO frameworks.
- Embed security by design principles into procurement and operational processes, supporting mission continuity and safeguarding project delivery.

- Has significant experience in operational security management within complex supply chains.
- Is well-versed in risk identification, threat mitigation, and compliance with defence security frameworks.
- Brings strong stakeholder engagement skills, working confidently across internal teams and external partners.
- Thrives in a high-responsibility role within a fast-paced, high-profile programme.
