The Global Customer Success (GCS) organization, within CE&S, leads the effort to enable customer success on the Microsoft Cloud by delivering AI-powered capabilities and human expertise to accelerate business value, drive operational excellence, and nurture long-term loyalty. The mission is to protect customers from cybersecurity threats through a comprehensive, AI-driven security stack that provides best-in-class protection across the digital estate. This role focuses on helping customers transform their security posture using Purview Data Security, Sentinel, and Defender XDR solutions and services. It is a customer-facing role that owns the technical relationship between the customer and Microsoft, guiding architecture, implementation, and operational health engagements with Enterprise-level customers on the bleeding edge of Microsoft Security offerings. This role is flexible to be performed up to 100% from home.
Responsibilities
- Customer Centricity: Drive customer satisfaction, become a trusted advisor, and provide feedback and insights from customers and partners. Be the Voice of Customer to share insights with Global Security teams, Engineering, and Product teams to remove blockers and influence the solution roadmap. Land an end-to-end value prop for Security (Zero Trust) spanning the breadth of Microsoft Security offerings with focus on Data Security, Threat Protection, Identity & Access Management, and Cloud Security.
- Business Impact: Position and deliver solutions that drive Security product usage, develop opportunities to drive Customer Success business results, and help customers get value from their Microsoft investments. Identify resolutions to customer blockers using Subject Matter Expert guidance and deliver according to Microsoft best practices and repeatable IP. Accelerate the value of overall Security adoption by aligning with a Secure by Design framework for performance, security, scalability, maintainability, reusability, and reliability upon deployment.
- Technical Leadership: Align individual skilling to team and customer success goals; accelerate customer outcomes by sharing expertise and reusing IP to advance outcomes. Run Architectural Design Sessions to build a plan for implementing the solution, ensuring design aligns with customer goals and technical environment, leading to consensus on the solution and next steps toward production. Collaborate with other Cloud Solution Architects and Microsoft stakeholders to develop complex end-to-end Enterprise solutions using Microsoft Security platform. Demonstrate breadth and depth of security, AI, and architecture knowledge to deliver end-to-end security storytelling and value.
- Required Subject Matter Expertise: Data Security (DLP, MIP, IRM), Zero Trust, threat management, SOC monitoring (SIEM/SOAR), Extended Detection & Response (XDR) + SIEM, Cloud Security, and Identity; strong emphasis on Purview Data Security.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Cloud/infrastructure technologies
- IT consulting/support
- Systems administration
- Network operations
- Software development/support
- Technology solutions and practice development
- Architecture and/or consulting
- Breadth of knowledge across Microsoft Cloud security domains, including:
- SIEM & XDR
- Purview – Data Security
- Endpoint Security
- Cloud Security
- Identity
- Expertise in Purview Data Security—covering DLP, MIP, and IRM
Technical Skills & Tools: Defender for Applications, Defender for Office (MDO), Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Cloud (MDC), Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Defender for Identity (MDI), Entra ID.
Core Competencies: Breadth of security experience with SME-level depth in Data Security (DLP, MIP, IRM) and XDR. Ability to map customer needs to technical solutions. Strong technical understanding of Microsoft Security Solutions and competitor offerings. Empathy, curiosity, and a continuous learning mindset with drive for results. Demonstrated technical leadership in prior roles. Ability to resolve customer escalations quickly by coordinating resources.
Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Security Architecture; CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent.
Business & Advisory Skills: Ability to articulate business value of solutions to stakeholders; build trusted relationships with technical and business decision-makers; situational fluency; insightful listening.
