Life on the team
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Security Consultant with proven experience in security technologies to join our cyber design team. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about designing, implementing, and assuring robust security solutions across complex enterprise landscapes. Based in Hatfield, this is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering cyber security strategies for high-profile customers and internal projects, working at the intersection of technical teams, assurance, and customer engagement.
As the Security Consultant, you’ll act as a bridge between technical security teams and both internal stakeholders and customers, ensuring security requirements are clearly understood and implemented. You’ll collaborate closely with the CTO, assurance teams, and customer solution architects, supporting customer opportunities, internal proof of concepts and translating technical requirements into actionable controls across the business.
This hybrid role offers variety, challenge, and the chance to work on interesting, high-impact projects. You’ll receive full support, ongoing training, and opportunities for professional development—including mentoring, funded certifications, and time for self-study. If you have a deep understanding of classical and cloud infrastructure, strong soft skills, and a desire to grow your career in cyber security, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Translate complex technical solutions into effective security controls.
- Collaborate closely with the CTO and other technical teams to define security requirements and support proof of concepts and solution assessments, ensuring security requirements are embedded in technology projects and operational processes.
- Act as a bridge between assurance teams and customer-facing Solution Architects, ensuring alignment across the deal lifecycle.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their environments and guide them through security design and governance.
- Support pre-sales assurance activities and contribute to opportunity governance.
- Work alongside a small, agile Cyber design team and a wider Cyber assurance team, fostering strong internal and external relationships.
- Influence and contribute to the organisation’s cyber strategy and security posture via Leadership.
What You’ll Need
- Strong understanding of classical infrastructure and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, VMware).
- Knowledge of standard cyber topics such as Secure Connectivity, Network Security, Endpoint Security, and Application integration.
- Solid grasp of network infrastructure and security principles.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into business-aligned security controls.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills—able to liaise with customer security personnel, technical peers, and wider business areas.
- Experience in enterprise-grade security technologies.
- Certifications such as CISSP or Vendor Technology certs (e.g., Microsoft SC-100) are beneficial but not essential.
- Must be eligible for SC clearance.
