As a Security Consultant Barclays, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, whilst been supported by some of the best security consultants in the fintech industry to embed security by design into our data banking infrastructure, enabling advanced analytics and data science use cases—including AI and Machine Learning—without compromising on compliance or control.

To be successful as a Security Consultant, you should have the following desirable skills and attributes:

• Understanding of architecture and control design experience in a data security or cybersecurity context.
• Hands-on experience in data science platforms and AI/ML use cases is desirable.
• Demonstrated expertise in implementing security by design principles and conducting threat modelling and translating this into designs mitigations for delivered patterns.
• Ability to translate complex security requirements into practical and scalable architectural solutions.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Working towards or attained already certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GSEC, or cloud-specific security certifications.
• Knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, especially around data services.
• Understanding of emerging threats in AI/ML applications, including adversarial attacks or data poisoning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This role will be based in either Glasgow or Knutsford office, with a requirement to be physically present in the office 2 days per week, flexible working can be arranged.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Accountabilities

• Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
• Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
• Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
• Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
