Overview

Security Design Engineering: Senior Consultant (Electronic and Physical) – London. The Security Design Engineering team designs physical protective security measures to help clients manage and mitigate threats to people, reputation, and assets. You will lead and manage engagements within scope and budget, work with colleagues and senior leaders, contribute to service line development, create intellectual property, support business development in the UK and Europe, and build and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and pursuing business opportunities
  • Responding to client requests for proposals (RFPs); determining, scoping, writing, and pricing fee proposals
  • Leading, managing, and designing engagements, including technical security reviews, audits, design surveys, installation inspections and approvals, at client sites and in the office
  • Designing physical and electronic security systems to an appropriate level, collaborating with specialist engineers from other organisations within project design teams
  • Producing reports, specifications, and drawings through all RIBA Plan of Work stages
  • Owning problems and providing problem solving solutions
  • Leading and participating in client and project meetings to add value and act as the client\'s trusted advisor
  • Ensuring practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client\'s best interests
  • Maintaining accurate financial forecasting, project planning, resource planning, and financial reporting
  • Maintaining time and expense records to ensure accurate invoicing each month
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing colleagues

Qualifications

  • Experienced physical security design consultant with a track record leading and managing engagements to a professional standard
  • Membership in a security-related institute
  • A security-related qualification
  • Thorough knowledge of current national and international standards and installation practices
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of designing physical security systems including fencing, gates, walls, doors and facades
  • Experience delivering physical and electronic security design consulting across all RIBA Plan of Work stages within multiple sectors in the UK and Europe
  • Substantial Project Management experience relating to security consulting and installations
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills
  • Proven ability to review and provide feedback to team members and improve output
  • Experience building effective client relationships
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Regional experience in Western Europe
  • Certified security industry qualifications
  • Knowledge of design-related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, MS Project) and related tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Security or engineering qualifications
  • ASIS PSP or similar security design qualification
