We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and self-motivated individual to join our Private Sector Housing team. Are you passionate about improving housing standards and making a real difference in your community? Mansfield District Council is seeking a proactive and dedicated Selective Licensing Compliance Officer to join our Private Sector Housing team. In this vital role, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring compliance with private sector housing legislation and selective licensing requirements. From inspecting properties and enforcing licence conditions to tackling illegal evictions and supporting the return of empty homes to use, your work will directly contribute to raising housing standards in the district. If you have a solid understanding of housing law, strong communication skills, and the drive to deliver high-quality regulatory services, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect properties to ensure compliance with private sector housing legislation and selective licensing requirements.
  • Enforce licence conditions and take enforcement action where needed.
  • Tackle illegal evictions and support the return of empty homes to use.
