This is an exciting and dynamic time to join AECOM’s Energy 4D Team, where we cover all aspects of 4D planning within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. As a Senior 4D Planner, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, ensuring no two days are the same.
With the growth of our 4D team, we are seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious, and hardworking professional to split their time between delivering high-quality project outcomes and developing innovative, bespoke tools to create market-leading deliverables. This role is pivotal in optimising the 4D process and advancing our capabilities.
We’re looking for a talented individual with recent and solid experience in Bentley Synchro 4D Pro and sound knowledge of model authoring tools such as Revit. Candidates with demonstrable expertise in producing high-end animations using cutting-edge software like Unreal Engine will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities
- Client-Facing Leadership: Serve as the main 4D contact, lead client meetings, facilitate review workshops, and ensure effective communication of project plans.
- Team Support & Development: Supervise and mentor junior team members, assign roles, and deliver Synchro 4D training to enhance skills and capabilities.
- 4D Planning & Implementation: Establish and maintain 4D processes, protocols, and standards, ensuring seamless integration of work, resource, and location breakdown structures into models and programmes.
- Quality Assurance: Review programmes and models for errors, gaps, and adherence to standards; enforce quality checks to maintain data integrity.
- Virtual Build Management: Create and maintain 4D simulations in Synchro 4D Pro to test feasibility, improve constructability, and analyse design options.
- Visualization & Reporting: Develop animations, analyse programme health (e.g., sequencing, space utilization), and conduct materials demand reporting.
- Health & Safety: Use the Virtual Build to identify risks, coordinate phasing of works, and improve safety planning during design and delivery phases.
- Collaboration & Process Improvement: Work with design and delivery teams to enhance workflows, data specifications, and metadata application for optimized 4D processes.
- Documentation & Security: Maintain accurate project records, task allocations, and ensure digital information security throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Degree educated in a construction/engineering related subject or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a 4D planning role
- Proven experience in Bentley Synchro and Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Planner
- Able to meet the requirements for Baseline security clearance in the UK
- Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint
