Senior Account Director, PR & Communications — London, UK. Real Chemistry is looking for a Senior Account Director to join our growing team. This person should have solid client services experience in healthcare who can lead client strategy engagements and supervise project execution across different communication platforms as well as drive new business opportunities. The position offers a great opportunity for an individual with a passion for healthcare to work with leading clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices and health IT fields.

Real Chemistry is seeking a Senior Account Director to join our growing team. This role involves leading client strategy engagements, supervising project execution, and guiding integrated marketing/communications decisions to increase brand visibility. Travel to client meetings and conferences is expected (approximately 20–30%).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional client relationship skills.
  • Hands-on delivery—flex between big picture strategic development and execution of associated tactics to ensure flawless delivery.
  • Guide clients on integrated marketing/communications decisions and identify opportunities to increase visibility, including consultative selling.
  • Develop high-level and persuasive communications plans (annual, quarterly, etc.).
  • Maintain client budgets, resourcing, budget tracking, staffing and billability.
  • Ensure the quality of the account team is maintained to the highest standard and that client requests are handled strategically and timely.
  • Directly supervise account staff and promote continuous learning and development to build an impactful culture.

Qualifications

  • Ability to take ownership and run projects with limited supervision.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to deadlines, able to lead multiple tasks and bring structure to problems.
  • Independent thinker who can own assets and material development, yet a collaborative team player.
  • Professional presence, client-service oriented, with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to communicate with managers about deadlines and issues; capable of escalating when necessary.
  • High energy, capable of operating in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • Proven work ethic with data-driven deliverables on schedule and on budget.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills; confident public speaking with clients, vendors, and affiliates.
  • Intermediate to advanced social media capabilities and ability to derive actionable insights from data/research.
  • Project management experience with ability to meet deadlines and manage budgets.
  • Experience encouraging professional development of direct reports and influencing matrixed teams.
  • Desirable: scientific knowledge from education or work on high-science accounts.
  • Some international travel required (20–30%).
