Reed Practice are delighted to have been engaged exclusively by a well-known regional Cambridgeshire firm to recruit a senior accountant to join as Accounts Manager.

Responsibilities

The Accounts Manager does not have any direct team reports, but you will have an immediate responsibility for your own portfolio of clients. The services you will provide include:

  • Preparing and finalising year-end financial statements for small to medium sized businesses; limited, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders from a wide range of sectors.
  • Preparing associated tax returns; corporate tax computations, self-assessment returns for Directors, business owners and Partners.
  • Drawing on your experience, consult with clients, providing advice to your clients on tax efficiency, accounting systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Liaising with HMRC and other authorities, resolving queries, relaying to clients.

You will contribute to the firm through

  • Through your close relationship with clients, identify other business opportunities.
  • Assist with the implementation of new and improved processes, use of technology to drive efficiency.
  • Manage client files and workpapers to ensure maintained in accordance with ICAEW guidelines and practice standards.

The firm has a close team culture and the Accounts Manager will liaise with the bookkeeping team where required and undertake any other reasonable tasks to support the partners.

Qualifications

In return we seek interest from those with the following:

  • ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification; we also welcome interest from those qualified by experience.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of UK standards, audit requirements (for accounting purposes), and tax compliance.
  • Ability to relay financial information to those not from finance, to develop sound relationships with others at all levels.
  • Exceedingly organised; sound time management and able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong sense of pride in providing the highest calibre of service to clients, commercially aware, a self-starter and positive role model.
