This role sits within the financial reporting team, which is responsible for external reporting and technical accounting. The team is expanding to meet the increasingly complex demands from accounting standard setters, regulators, and other stakeholders.

As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering statutory financial reporting requirements at a group level. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing group consolidated annual statutory accounts and coordinating with external auditors
  • Preparing and reviewing key disclosure notes, particularly around financial instruments
  • Acting as a key contact and driver of the external audit process
  • Liaising with Investor Relations, Risk, and other finance teams
  • Supporting periodic reporting requirements for regulators and other internal/external stakeholders
  • Preparing balance sheet analysis to support quarterly financial returns, including investigating and documenting variances
  • Developing and delivering technical training sessions to improve data quality and financial statement disclosures
  • Contributing to the implementation of new accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and automation initiatives
  • Reviewing and challenging monthly general ledger entries to ensure integrity of group reporting
  • Playing an active role in transformation projects such as ledger upgrades, substantiation automation, and data initiatives
  • Responding to ad hoc requests as required

What we are looking for

  • Qualified accountant with in-depth knowledge and experience in financial reporting
  • Strong technical understanding of IFRS and consolidations
  • Experience delivering training and knowledge sharing
  • Familiarity with systems such as JDE and Essbase (beneficial but not essential)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements relevant to the role
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work independently
  • Proven ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Team player with experience leading teams and/or projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in preparing or reviewing FINREP regulatory reporting
