Senior Accountant

Location: Croydon

Job Type: Full-Time

Annual Salary: £50,000- £55,000, depending on experience

Reed Croydon is working with a well-established, family-run accountancy practice with over 40 years of experience. They are seeking a Senior Accountant with extensive practice experience to manage a diverse portfolio of approximately 100 clients across various sectors and support/mentor two nearly Senior Accountants within the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review accounts, VAT returns, and tax computations for a portfolio of around 100 clients.
• Oversee VAT return preparation and submission, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to two junior team members
• Liaise directly with clients, offering tailored advice and support to meet their unique business needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA (or equivalent).
• Significant experience in a UK accountancy practice, demonstrating a strong technical knowledge of accounting and taxation.
• Proficiency in VT, Capium, IRIS, and Excel.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills, capable of managing and nurturing client interactions.
• Ability to mentor and support junior staff, promoting professional growth within the team.
• Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage a varied and dynamic workload effectively.
