We're working with a forward-thinking consultancy known for integrating acoustics into high-performance, sustainable building design. Their acoustics team delivers smart, practical solutions across sectors including residential, commercial, education, and infrastructure.

You'll work closely with architects, engineers, and developers from concept to completion, contributing to both design and on-site testing. This isn't just an acoustics role, it's part of a wider mission to balance sound with energy, ventilation, and daylight in innovative ways.

Responsibilities

  • Lead acoustic design for buildings, including noise control, sound insulation, vibration, and reverberation metrics
  • Perform measurements, testing, and site surveys (e.g. sound insulation tests, reverberation, façade noise)
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff
  • Liaise with architects, structural/MEP engineers, planners, and contractors to integrate acoustic solutions into overall building design
  • Produce reports, design notes, and calculations for regulatory compliance (building regulations, planning, standards)
  • Contribute to business development (proposals, client relationships, innovation)

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in building or environmental acoustics
  • Member of IOA
  • Proficient with acoustic modelling and tools
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage a diverse workload and meet deadlines
  • A team player with a genuine interest in sustainable design
