Salary and benefits: £40,500 to £65,000 plus 8% bonus up to 16%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

Role purpose
We have an opportunity to join us as an Actuarial Analyst in our Individual Annuity Pricing team. The successful candidate will support ongoing pricing activities for Individual Annuity Products within Retirement Solutions. The role involves carrying out a range of actuarial tasks and pricing activities across multiple products under appropriate guidance, building understanding of our customer base and contributing to pricing of annuity products to meet financial targets and growth aspirations.
What are we looking for?
- A part qualified actuary with a strong academic background and relevant experience in insurance, aiming to be fully qualified with support from Phoenix Group.
- Analytical and quantitative abilities with strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Knowledge of individual annuity products, pricing concepts, calculations and actuarial sciences preferred.
- Ability to adapt to different work requirements by planning and organising effectively.
- Proficient with software such as Excel; VBA and Power BI are a plus.
- Motivated to build technical and business knowledge and continue personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate pricing competitiveness of products using market insight data and identify opportunities to optimise profitability and competitiveness.
- Produce pricing MI to provide insights into competitiveness and profitability.
- Implement pricing changes into production environments.
- Assist with pricing basis or assumption changes.
- Accurately produce calculations used in pricing, analyse propositions and business data to support recommendations to senior team members.
- Develop existing tools to enhance capabilities and efficiencies; support Senior Actuarial Analysts, Actuaries and other senior managers in meeting business and regulatory requirements, including communication of actuarial results and analysis.
