Senior AI Quality Assurance Engineer

Shape the Future of AI-Powered Authentication

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom - 3 days a week in the office (Hybrid)

We’re looking for a highly skilled QA engineer to help bring an innovative authentication product from proof-of-concept to pilot-ready. This is a critical role, ensuring that next-generation behavioural AI authentication technology is reliable, secure, and scalable before it reaches real-world users.

You’ll take ownership of testing across mobile platforms, APIs, and AI-driven authentication models, working closely with engineering teams to set the gold standard for quality in digital identity security.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement comprehensive test strategies for mobile authentication platforms
• Build and maintain automated test suites for APIs, apps, and authentication workflows
• Create and maintain test cases covering functional, integration, performance, and security testing
• Carry out functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing
• Establish CI/CD testing pipelines and collaborate with engineers to deliver seamless releases
• Track, manage, and resolve bugs with a focus on system reliability
• Create frameworks to evaluate behavioural AI models in lab and real-world environments
• Design and execute tests to measure model accuracy, precision, recall, and false positive/negative rates with real-world data
• Curate datasets for model validation and edge case testing
• Perform bias and edge case testing to ensure fairness across user populations
• Evaluate model performance under various conditions (device types, user behaviours, environmental factors)
• Collaborate with AI engineers to establish model performance benchmarks and acceptance criteria

Security & Privacy Testing

• Conduct security testing specific to authentication systems and behavioural data handling
• Validate privacy controls and data protection measures
• Test authentication bypass scenarios and potential attack vectors
• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations
• Produce test documentation and reports for pilot deployment
• Establish monitoring and alerting systems for production quality metrics
• Create testing protocols for pilot partners and end-user scenarios
• Develop troubleshooting guides and quality checklists for deployment teams

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: minimum 3+ years in software testing and QA, ideally with mobile and security systems
• Technical Skills:
• Automated testing (Selenium, Appium, Cypress)
• API testing (Postman, REST Assured)
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Understanding of database testing and SQL
• Experience testing AI/ML or data-driven applications
• Security and performance testing expertise, particularly in authentication systems
• Knowledge of behavioural biometrics or fraud detection systems
• Understanding of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) as they relate to biometric data
• Analytical and detail-oriented, able to think like both a user and an attacker
• Collaborative communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally
• Adaptable in a fast-paced, startup-style environment
• Excited by innovation in AI, biometrics, and authentication technology
