Job Description
We're currently looking to hire a Senior Analyst Investment Stewardship to join L&G Asset Management's award-winning global Investment Stewardship team. The successful Senior Analyst will join our Investment Stewardship team in London, working in collaboration with the Investment Research team.
In this multi-faceted role, you will undertake investment stewardship activities to support our Sector Strategy, with a focus on the Industrials Sector within our investments from a stewardship perspective. You'll lead the Industrial Sector, shaping and implementing the sector strategy from the viewpoint of investment stewardship, in collaboration with thematic leads and other functions within the wider investment team, driving changes in the real economy.
Responsibilities
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the sector and identifying prioritised companies within it while developing an in-depth knowledge of the key operational models and value chains such as customers and suppliers.
- Collaborating and coordinating with other sector leads on participation in cross-sectoral efforts including research and engagements.
- Identifying and participating in collaborative networks of investors and stakeholders that add value such as enhancing team knowledge, exerting influence or offering collaborative engagement opportunities.
- Developing and implementing the engagement plan for the Industrial Sector covering financially material thematic topics including leading and supporting direct and collaborative company engagements and industrial association public policy engagements as needed.
- Undertaking and supporting overall voting activities across the sector in accordance with LGIM's Stewardship policies.
- Supporting the investment teams in understanding and integrating sectoral considerations and Stewardship policies into sector and company research through regular presentations and relationship-building with key stakeholders.
- Collaborating with and contributing to relevant theme leads and our Global Research and Engagement Groups co-leads to identify material thematic topics applicable to the sector and developing structured engagement strategies.
- Supporting client engagement by representing the Investment Stewardship team's approach and activities in client meetings as well as supporting client understanding through the development of client collateral and responding to client requests and proposals.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- You'll have experience of Industrial Sector' trends, wider issues and material ESG topics, including corporate governance.
- Experience of corporate engagements in Industrials Sector addressing financially material climate & nature, social resilience and corporate governance risks and opportunities across sectors and markets.
- Experience in conducting research on companies on ESG topics.
- Previous experience of proxy voting would be strongly preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of responsible investment best practices and broader trends.
- Broad awareness of the asset management industry and the different challenges sustainability issues pose for different client channels would be advantageous.
- Experience of undertaking successful engagement with C-suite level and board would be advantageous.
- Experience of working alongside senior portfolio managers and analysts would be advantageous.
