Senior Android Security Software Developer, Fraud – bet365, Stoke-On-Trent, England, United Kingdom

Bet365 is a leading online gambling company with a culture that encourages creativity and growth. This role focuses on the Company’s mobile security initiatives within the fraud site defence team on the Android platform.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the Company’s mobile security initiatives, architect resilient defences, and mentor teams to address today’s advanced threats.
  • Lead security operations on the Android platform within the fraud site defence team.
  • Architect cutting-edge anti-tamper and anti-cheat measures across Android native and companion apps, ensuring data integrity (including GPS) against spoofing techniques.
  • Drive security initiatives, mentor junior team members, and foster a proactive security culture.
  • Participate in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated mastery in securing Android platforms, including advanced threat modelling and the design of sophisticated anti-cheat mechanisms.
  • Excellent command of low-level systems programming and operating system internals.
  • Extensive experience in reverse engineering; ARM assembly knowledge is advantageous.
  • Proficient in C/C++ for native security development, with robust working knowledge of Kotlin for secure, high-performance mobile applications.
  • Proven experience in architecting, implementing, and evolving state-of-the-art anti-tamper and defence systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and inspire security engineering teams, driving best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • In-depth understanding of encryption algorithms, secure key management, and modern secure coding practices.
  • Forward-thinking hacker mindset with a passion for identifying vulnerabilities before they are exploited.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with development, infrastructure, and information security teams.
  • Creative approach to security challenges and a proactive stance on emerging threat landscapes.

Additional Information

  • Leading initiatives to identify, analyse, and reverse engineer exploits, vulnerabilities, and cheat mechanisms, and to formulate robust countermeasures.
  • Defining, designing, and implementing advanced, scalable anti-tamper and anti-cheat systems for mobile applications, ensuring high security standards.
  • Developing and enforcing strategies to maintain data integrity (e.g., GPS) against spoofing and tampering attempts.
  • Pioneering security methods from memory protection to code obfuscation to mitigate exploits.
  • Collaborating with software development, information security, and infrastructure teams to integrate robust security features and set strategic direction on secure development practices.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and security engineers.
  • Assessing emerging threat vectors and updating security strategies and policies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Guiding the creation and maintenance of tools for real-time detection, threat analysis, and rapid incident response.
  • Championing adoption of cutting-edge security standards and practices to meet internal and industry regulatory requirements.
