Salary: £60,000 to £80,000

A highly ranked law firm is seeking a driven and experienced Charities Specialist Lawyer to join their Salisbury office as a Senior Associate. This is a standout opportunity for a 6+ PQE solicitor to take on a leadership role, with a clear pathway to head the charity law practice within three years.

About the Role

You'll advise trustees and senior staff across a wide spectrum of charities, with a particular focus on military charities and independent schools. You'll also support fee-earners across the firm in charity-related matters spanning property, litigation, legacy disputes, employment, private client, and commercial law.

Responsibilities

  • Advising on constitutional matters for all types of charities
  • Handling regulatory and compliance issues, including statutory inquiries
  • Restructuring charities and liaising with the Charity Commission
  • Managing charity mergers and asset transfers
  • Ensuring Charities Act compliance, particularly in property disposals
  • Drafting grant agreements and commercial contracts
  • Advising on commercial participator arrangements
  • Resolving charity-related disputes

Qualifications

We\'re looking for a solicitor with:

  • 6+ years PQE in charity law or a related field
  • Strong technical expertise in charity governance and regulation
  • Excellent drafting and advisory skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
  • A collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented approach
  • Ambition to lead and grow a specialist practice
